Review: The Makeover

Julia Styles Stars in Adorable My Fair Lady Update
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Julia Stiles is a stuffy, grammar-obsessed educator and David Walton is a rough-hewn Boston beer vendor in a new Hallmark Hall of Fame movie (Sunday - ABC, 9pm) that may remind you of the classic My Fair Lady. It’s supposed to — screenwriter C. Jay Cox (Sweet Home Alabama) based it on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, the play that became the stage and movie musical.

The result is an adorable and faithful update that spoofs politics, television and Boston while making underlying points about education, class conflict and being oneself.
