Review: 1600 Penn

Broad NBC Comedy Works After It First Annoys
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Loud and silly, 1600 Penn (NBC, 9:30pm)  will send some viewers screaming off into the night in the first few minutes.

But hang on. Loud and silly as it is, the show also manages to create and define its characters skillfully. Character-driven humor is a great thing in a comedy, especially one that also deals in pratfalls.
In fact, the second and third episodes, also provided for preview, 1600 Penn has actually begun to work.
