When Fiona’s assistant Jerome (Dan Bucatinsky) and his wife Hayley (Rashida Jones) reconnect with Fiona to make amends, they proceed to inform her that they are turning her memoirs into a dark musical, with or without her blessing.
Later, Fiona’s argument with Robin (Julie Claire) leads to disastrous consequences for her husband Kip’s (Victor Garber) Congressional campaign.
But when one door closes, another one opens – at least that’s what Fiona expects when she abruptly hopes to rebound with special friend and billionaire media magnet Austen Clarke (Alan Cumming). Unfortunately, Austen isn’t flying solo anymore.
