Revolution

NBC has made it clear that they are still in a rebuilding phase and have gotten a lot of help in the unscripted arena from Sunday Night Football and The Voice. But any turnaround requires some strong scripted successes, which explains the robust slate of new programming being rolled out in 2012-13.

Challenges

The Voice – needs to maintain ratings while avoiding overexposure

Sitcom-heavy line up (4 nights per week) lacks strong returning anchors and bets on a lot of new entries

Surprising returnee Rock Center’s performance relies on increased Election interest

Prognosis

NBC will need The Voice to maintain its audience and a couple of its new scripted shows to stick in order to start moving upward.
