Preview: History Detectives

Rock 'n' Roll on PBS's Great History Detectives
TVFirstLook

PBS's History Detectives has been digging through everyday treasures for years, with its team of scholars and historians doing more than estimating the value of what they find. Instead, they travel the country looking for clues about the origin of viewers' finds to discover where they came from and what they tell us about American history.

Tonight, History Detectives kicks off its 10th season with a nod to rock 'n' roll (PBS, 9pm).

The detectives check out a Fender Stratocaster that Bob Dylan may have played in 1965 when he famously went electric. Tukufu Zuberi checks out the authenticity of two Beatles' autographs.

And Gwen Wright tracks down the history of a collage that Frank Zappa may have created. (Check out our 5Qs on Friday with Gwen.)
